Surface 3 其说是Surface 2的继任者，不如认为该机是Surface Pro 3的lite版本，该印防哥叶吸市情杂着机装备了英特尔的Atom处理器，相似的支架、Type Cover，并支持手写笔交互，最重要的是该机支持全功能的Windows系统。
在Surface 3的包装中具备全新的充电器和尺寸更小的用户说明，Surface 3 并非使用在前代Surface中所使用的磁性充电器，而是通过常规的USB端口进行充电。在材质方面，基本上和已经发售的Surface Pro 3没有太大的差别，依然采用镁上先铝合金。
